  • PAK Innovation Assists Federal Reserve

In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the Federal Reserve was tasked with destroying all of the unusable currency that had been ruined during the floods. In addition to the problems they already faced with the logistics of bringing the currency to an incinerator they also ran into the issue of the fumes that were coming off of the bills that had become waterlogged. The Fed needed a fix to this problem and it needed to be done quickly, they turned to the PAK team and within the week the minds at PAK had come up with a concept for a laminated substrate that encapsulated the vapor and moisture, therefore protecting the armored car couriers from getting sick while on route to the incineration facility.
